Training
There are several types of training opportunities for IMPACT recipients. IMPACT
Team members work directly with schools to communicate training options prior to deployment. Web-based training is also available for:
- Web-Based Training (WBT) currently contains online lessons for IMPACT Student Information
Management (SIM). The WBT includes role-based simulations and hands-on exercises. The lessons
can be started and stopped at any time, and include estimated lesson times to help end users
train at their convenience. All CPS administrators, teachers, and Central Office staff should
take time now to complete the Intro to SIM WBT.
- Self-Paced Training (SPT) features component-based handbooks and guidelines available to
print or to read online.
- Instructor-Led Training (ILT) for all three components are conducted for a Core/Leadership
Team from each school, selected by the school administrator, prior to deployment. Only Team members
receive invitations to ILT. IMPACT recipients who have been invited to ILT should follow the
registration instructions included in their invitations. For SIM training dates, access the SIM
ILT calendars from the right-side of this page; check back frequently for the most current dates.
- Just-In-Time Training coincides with IMPACT deployment. Trainers visit schools to demonstrate
important IMPACT functionality to teaching staff.
Elizabeth Training Facility (ETF)
Most of ILT is held at the home of CPS training--the Elizabeth Training Facility (ETF). ETF
is located at 320 N. Elizabeth, Chicago, IL 60607.
